Once you apply for an express entry, the government determines if you are eligible for an Express Entry program.

If they find you eligible for the program, they list you in the Express Entry pool and rank you according to CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). Your CRS score will be calculated based on your age, education, work experience and language skills.

The Canadian government selects you from the Express Entry pool based on your score and once you are selected, you get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
